my birthday

so i never got to post about my 29th birthday, which was now almost 2 months ago...but it was fun. here's a quick run-down:
naomi got to go to nana and boompa's house (my parents) to spend the night so that meant john and i could go out carousing and partying for my birthday--woohoo!

so we did!

we went to alamo drafthouse to see the Mr. Sinus Theater rendition of Terminator--it was so fun! and so easy to lampoon! we also got to enjoy dinner at alamo, a rare treat.

then we went out for coffee afterwards and didn't even start heading home til 10:30 p.m.!!! which is really rare for us, usually because of family obligations and john's geriatricesque homebody tendencies.

and here's on of the best birthday treats: we slept in the next morning until 10! we woke up and were talking about how it had been YEARS since we'd slept that late and laughed because it would probably be years until it happened again since baby number 2 was on his way...

so that was my refreshing birthday, low-key, gearing up for the big 3-0 next year. it feels weird to be almost 30, like i'm still really 19 inside, but no, i have 2 children now and too many grey hairs to count--yes, i really do.

on a grey hair tangent i asked my mom recently when she started to go grey and she said she wasn't sure, but she WAS sure that it wasn't in her late 20s...i don't *think* she meant anything by it....
